According to a recent trend, it has been observed that many a times engineers are found putting in efforts to make a career transition from engineering to finance, there are many reasons for such a shift which are described as follows:
- Love for numbers: One thing that is ultimately common in an engineer & a finance professional is the love for numbers, this is one of the very initial reasons why engineers are inclined towards choosing finance as a career path.
- Higher earning potential: It has been observed that not all domains of engineering can pay you very well. While the pay for software engineers is on the higher side, the same is not the case for other domains of engineering ranging from mechanical to electrical. Therefore the motivation for higher pay in areas like investment banking, hedge funds, etc seems lucrative.
- Front end roles: Apart from civil & software engineering there are very few roles in engineering that gives you a chance of client-facing roles, therefore looking front end roles opportunities & there love for numbers, a career in finance is suitable
These are the possible reasons of transition, these reasons are highly subjective in nature.
