They are the four largest professional services firms in the world that provide auditing, transaction advisory consulting, taxation, actuarial services, and risk advisory services. These firms perform audits on a large number of public companies as well as private companies in almost all countries.
• Deloitte- It is a UK incorporated international professional service firm which has its headquarters in New York City. It is well known for its audit, tax, risk, financial advisory, and consulting services. It has offices in more than 100 locations throughout the world.
• PricewaterhouseCoopers- It is headquartered in London and ranks just behind Deloitte in terms of revenue and size. It has offices in more than 150 locations worldwide. It was created in 1998 after a merger between Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand.
• KPMG-It is headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It specializes in three service lines: Financial audit, tax, and advisory. All national KPMG firms are independent legal entities and are a part of KPMG International Cooperative which is a Swiss entity.
• Ernst and Young-It is headquartered in London and was ranked as the 29th best company to work for in the world. It is the 11th largest private organization in the world. It has hundreds of global offices. It is also the main auditor for many tech firms in Silicon Valley.
