What is XAT?

Xavier aptitude test (XAT) is a national level management entrance examination conducted by XLRI (Xavier school of management) for admission in MBA/PGDM programmes. The eligibility criteria are no different from other management entrance examinations. Candidates with 3 years of bachelor’s degree or more are eligible. Candidates studying in the final year of graduation can apply too. It is a 3 hours and 10 minutes long exam divided into five parts:

Decision making, VA&LR, and DI&QA must be completed in 165 Minutes with no sectional time limit and the rest 25 minutes are allotted for GK and essay writing. Each correct answer carries a (+1) mark and incorrect answer results in deduction of (-0.25) mark. Even (-0.10) are deducted for more than 8 unanswered questions. The level of the exam varies from Moderate to difficult.
