What is the criteria for getting a shortlist for IIFT?

The next rounds after appearing for the entrance test include Group Discussion, Written Ability Test, and a Personal Interview. In order to be eligible for that process, IIFT releases a shortlist of candidates. Nearly 3000 candidates are shortlisted from the 36000 students appearing for the exams. The shortlist is not just based on the score but is based on the profile of the student. The criteria for the shortlist are as follows:

Parameters Scores IIFT Score- 73
Marks obtained in Class X* - 10
Marks obtained in Class XII* - 10
Academic Diversity Non Eng. = 5; Eng. = 0**
Gender Diversity (M=0; F=2) - 2
Total Score – 100

A total score is calculated on the basis of these parameters. Marks of 10th and 12th std are converted into percentages and a particular range of marks are given a particular score. Gender Diversity scores are given to female candidates in order to maintain a balance and have near equal representation. For Academic diversity, Non-engineering students are given extra scores in order to have diversity in the batch and include students from various fields. A composite score is calculated to shortlist the candidates.
