What is stock market?

The stock markets operate as primary and secondary markets, according to the guidelines set forth by the regulator.

Stock market is a market where one can purchase and sell any security(share, debenture, stock, bonds). In short it is a trading market of speculative goods. In India there are 2 recognised stock markets i.e NSE(national stock exchange) and BSE(bombay stock exchange).
When any private company is incorporated it has to get listed in any recognised stock market to trade shares. When any pvt.ltd company is listed in stock it get subsequently turned into public limited company. Now the company gets rights to transfer its shares to public through IPO (initial public offering) and even can transfer its shares to any specified person who wants to become the member of company and even their employees. Company do it so to raise their fund and in return they provide with the dividend to shareholders which is paid annually. One can even buy any company’’s shares through NSE and BSE.
