What is Product discovery, and why is it necessary for a Product Manager?

Developing a deep understanding of clients and then applying that knowledge to the creation of critical products for them. Product discovery is critical in assisting product teams in determining which features or products to prioritize and construct and laying the groundwork for product excellence.

Product teams may design products that customers want and need by cultivating a deeper understanding of them. The method enables teams to transcend beyond “nice to have” features and products and instead create products that address a problem and become a true requirement for customers.

Product discovery adds value to the product team, the firm (e.g., by avoiding spending precious resources pursuing the wrong ideas and building products that no one wants), and customers (by delivering something they may consider essential). The product discovery process guarantees that product managers and teams are on the correct track when it comes to prioritizing and developing a successful product.
