What Is Operating Revenue?

The money generated by a company’s core business operations is known as operating revenue. A retailer’s operating revenue comes from goods sales, whereas a physician’s operating revenue comes from the medical services they give. Operating revenue varies depending on the type of business or sector.
The core business operations of a firm produce operating revenue.
Operating revenue may be compared from year to year to measure a company’s and its operations’ health.
Non-operating revenue from uncommon, exceptional, or one-time occurrences should be segregated from operating revenue.

Operating Revenue is a revenue which generated from operational activity of the business i.e from day to day business activity of the concern. For.eg. sale of goods.

There are few revenues which are not regular in nature and which we raise from from non-operating activities for eg dividend on investment. So this is not operating.
