The phrase “climate finance” has a wide and restricted definition. It refers to an organization that uses financial institutions or technology to promote environmental sustainability, such as by creating or installing new solar panels or other renewable energy sources. Climate financing, in its most restricted sense, refers to the transfer of cash from industrialized to poor countries in accordance with international accords such as the 2016 Paris Agreement.
