What happens when a Bitcoin halves?

When it comes to bitcoin, the word “halving” refers to the number of bitcoin tokens found in a freshly generated block. When bitcoin first started in 2009, each block held 50 BTC, but this value was scheduled to be lowered by 50% every four years. There have been three halving occurrences today, with a block containing just 6.25 BTC. A block will only contain 3.125 BTC when the next halving happens.
