There are three types of sales promotion strategies’.
- Push,
- Pull or
- a combination of the two.
A push promotional strategy makes use of*a company’s sales force and trade promotion activities to create consumer demand for a product.
A pull strategy attempts to get consumers to “pull” the product from the manufacturer through the marketing channel.
Combining Push and Pull
To bolster sales, try combining the two systems. For instance, offer your customers coupons, free gifts or a frequent customer loyalty incentive to drive traffic to your business. These activities fall under the “pull” strategy.
