In recent years, one of the most sought-after sectors for MBA students has been sales and marketing. This is evidenced by the findings of the InsideIIM recruiting study for 2020-2021, which found that Sales and Marketing were among the top three most desired domains among MBA students. This is shown in recent placement statistics from prominent business schools such as IIMs ACIK, FMS, and XLRI, which show that at least 15% and up to 24% of the Class of 2020 chose Sales & Marketing positions. Even at prestigious business institutions such as Harvard Business School, Stanford GSB, Yale SOM, and others, a sizable percentage of recent graduates have chosen these careers.
