Is There a Difference Between Sets and Groups in Tableau?

A Tableau group is a one-dimensional object that is used to construct a higher-level category by combining members from lower-level categories. Tableau sets may be grouped across many dimensions/measures and can include criteria.
Sub-categories, for example, can be organized by category.
By constructing a set, top sales and profit for several categories may be grouped together:

  1. Using the Sets example from earlier, pick the Bottom Customers set, where customer names are sorted by profit.
  2. Select the top five entries from the list under the ‘Groups’ tab.
  3. Create a group by right-clicking and selecting the option.
  4. Create a group for the bottom five entries in the same way. Hide the rest of the entries.
The fact that the groups will consist of the same consumers, even if their earnings vary later, is a significant distinction. When it comes to sets, if the profit fluctuates, the top five and lowest five clients will shift.
