The interview panel was made up of two men in their late forties, and as the interview progressed, I realized that one of them was knowledgeable about Mechanical Engineering and could thus effectively cross-examine me. He asked me some real-world questions, such as giving me the specifications of two different engines and asking me to explain which one would outperform the other in which parameter. He also asked me to define terms such as hardness, ultimate tensile strength, fatigue, and the significance of the safety factor in machine design. He also wanted to know how to calculate the Brinell Hardness Number of various materials. Then I was able to administer the Rockwell Hardness test to him. They did question me about my video, which we had to submit one month before the interview.

Status: Selected and Studying at IMT Ghaziabad

Post that, we needed to pick a time slot for our interview process, out of a calendar of first two weeks of the February of 2021. I opted for the last slot of the last date ( Was later reminded by seniors and friends that this was not a nice strategy to follow, given that there might be a chance that they have selected their share of students by then. Luckily for me, it wasn’t in this case.

So, on the day of the interview, we were kept waiting in a virtual waiting hall we had to join keeping in mind our time slot. We were being reminded by the coordinators about 15 minutes before the estimated interview room entry timing.
So after waiting for some time, I did get a chance to enter the virtual interview room, where two panelists were waiting for me.

Panelist 1: Tell me something about You.
Panelist 1: (After my reply in the first case) I see you have a gap post your work experience of two years. So what were you up to before we met here?
Panelist 1: (After my reply) So you are basically changing too many lines here. You graduated in Electronics engineering, then worked as a Data Analyst for two years, and now You are going for MBA. Why is it so ? Didn’t you like your job?

(Just a tip, never criticize your current or ex employer in front of the interviewer. This doesn’t put a good impression. Try to present everything as a learning experience)

After I had explained about how my employer had treated me quite well and I loved my job, and why I thought MBA was the next step in my career track and would help my profile in a way better way.)

Panelist 1: So, You told me you have grown up in these areas and are native of this place. Explain how these places are unique and their biggest pitch you would present as a representative of these years.

Panelist 1: (After I have answered the last question) What are the most prominent grievances in these areas? What are your ideas to solve them?

After I answered the last question, the panelist said that her part was done and she handed over the baton to the second panelist)

Panelist 2- So I saw you are an Electronics Engineering graduate. Can you name some important chip making companies?
Panelist 2- (after I have answered) So you told me how some of these companies are into gaming business as well. Recently an incident in the sector was making ripples in the news, can you tell me what was the case about and which company was involved here?
Panelist 2- (After I have answered) Correct. There is a last thing I want to ask you, how would you utilize something you have learnt in your graduate college in the lessons of management here?

This was the last question I faced in my interview. All over, in my opinion, I had answered all the questions as per my best knowledge, and sine I finally converted the opportunity, it is safe to say that the panelists thought it the same way.
