SECTIONAL AND OVERALL CUTOFFS?

  • To be admitted to IIM Ahmedabad, a general student must have a minimum percentile of 80, with 70% in each section.

  • A non-creamy OBC cum transgender candidate should have at least a 75 overall percentile and a 65 sectional percentile.

  • An SC candidate must have a minimum percentile of 70 overall and 60 in each section.

  • A candidate from a minority (ST) must score at least 60% overall and 50% in each section.

  • A PwD (General, EWS, NC-OBC-cum-transgender, SC) should have an overall percentile score of 70, with a minimum of 60 in each section.

  • A candidate for ST-PwD should have a minimum percentile score of 60, with 50 in each section.

This, however, does not guarantee a spot on the interview shortlist. When shortlisting for the second round, they give the CAT score 65 percent weightage and the application rating score 35 percent weightage. As a result, if a student does not perform well in 10th or 12th grade, he can compensate by performing well in the CAT. The application score gives a 10 point weightage to 10th, 12th, and graduation grades, and a 5 point weightage to diversity.
