How to prepare for Quantitative techniques & Data interpretation in CMAT?

CMAT preparation for the Quantitative Technique (QT) and Data Interpretation (DI) sections requires specific planning and focus. Most CMAT candidates also appear for CAT, XAT, IIFT, and SNAP, so the basics of exam preparation remain the same, which includes studying relevant topics on quantitative techniques and data interpretation, practicing sample questions, and reviewing key concepts.

  • Since the subjects of quantitative techniques and data interpretation are combined in the CMAT, an exam-oriented plan is required. CMAT 2022 will most likely take place in February or March to give candidates enough time to prepare.

  • Begin by gaining a theoretical understanding of the concepts of the subjects included in the CMAT syllabus for QT and DI. Since DI is based on calculus, it does not need to be prepared separately. After completing each topic, also solve questions of different difficulty levels to understand the application of the concept.

  • This section of the CMAT has 25 questions in the paper in MCQ format. ยท Each question has four points for a correct answer and minus one for a wrong attempt. This section is dominated by quantitative techniques issues. There are no more than four to eight data interpretation questions.

  • The difficulty level for the Quantitative Technique and Data Interpretation section of the CMAT exam is generally moderate to difficult. Out of 25 questions, about 22 good attempts are rated as good in this section.
