Why do candidates get rejected in the TCS interview?

The Interview process is a filter that selects the best candidates out of the candidates that have appeared for the process. It is implied that some of the candidates may be rejected. The reasons for rejection can be based on a lot of diverse factors.

The primary reason for the rejections of candidates in the interview part is that they were unable to answer basic questions of the area and subject of their interests. This sends a message that the candidate is not prepared enough. Another reason can be they do not have a clarity of purpose as to why they want to work in the particular sector and cannot convince the interviewers with their answers. There may be instances when candidates cannot answer things mentioned in their CV which puts out a very bad impression and may lead to rejection. Other than that the interviewer may have selected the required talent for the role and others might be rejected.
