Let’s start with the basics:

You went through the interview process but were not selected for whatever reason on the interviewer’s end.

  • Take what you learned at the interview and conduct a personal assessment to determine what you need to work on, then interview somewhere else until you are able to interview there again.

  • Even if everything went well in the interview, you can still bomb out for reasons that are unrelated to you.

  • For example, time, internal requisitions altering, a different candidate who was further along receiving the position, and so on.

  • It’s not the end of the world if you don’t get employed; simply look for other opportunities to gain experience. Learn more about the company and the industry, for example.

  • Despite the fact that you mentioned the phone interviewer’s worries, you made it to the interview rounds.

  • This signifies that someone wanted to put you to the test for a certain skill/trait/etc. I can’t say without knowing the job, but it sounds like what they wanted versus your being a good fit for the role resulted in a thumbs down vote.
