  • Many organizations provide an unsubscribe option at the end of an email, or they offer an option to go to a preference center that allows subscribers to alter their subscription choices. Most email service providers make these linking options available in their email builder.

  • Every marketing email you send must give the person the ability to opt out of (or ‘unsubscribe from’) further emails. You must tell customers if you add them to a list of people who do not want to be emailed.

  • Most email marketing providers are stricter than the law and don’t allow sending emails unless people have explicitly opted in. You must have your mailing address and a way to unsubscribe.
