When an employer asks this question, they’re trying to figure out why you chose this particular profession. It is also a good question for the recruiter to see how much preparation and consideration was put into your career choice.

You must think of an effective response because this is one of the questions that frequently take a candidate off guard. Selectively include some positive influences or you can say that someone inspired your professional choice. Always maintain an optimistic attitude.

During my college, I was focused and passionate about [profession]. With time, I continued to explore current development in the profession and began taking courses to stay updated. Later I started off with an internship and I knew that this was the career path I wanted to pursue. Also, this is an emerging sector in India, therefore it will only boost my career.
