The contract note is the legal statement which is sent to the owner of the DP Account informing him/her of any trade made by a stockbroker on a stock exchange.

This helps to person know what was bought or sold and if the same was authorized by him or her. It also shows you the rate at which the security was bought and the commission and taxes charged.
