What is a Content Strategist's role in the Digital Marketing field?

A Content Strategist is typically tasked with developing engaging and clickable content that is both relevant to the business and the organisation’s objectives whilst simultaneously drawing in more customers. The content generated generally tends to be in text form, with catchy headlines and a body that is optimised for search engine discoverability by using frequently searched keywords about that topic. In order to accurately predict what the potential customers of the brand will search, a content strategist must possess strong secondary research skills, with other skills such as a good grasp over English also being of importance.

Entry into this role typically requires little to no experience and is often considered an entry level position to the digital marketing field. However, employers do look for candidates with the aforementioned skills.
