What does data purging mean?

Data purging is a technique that involves erasing data from storage permanently. For data cleansing, a variety of approaches and tactics are employed.

Data cleansing is sometimes contrasted with data deletion. Data deletion is a more ad hoc procedure, whereas data cleansing is a permanent process. As a result, storage and/or memory space is freed up, which may be put to better use.

The purging procedure allows us to archive data even after it has been permanently deleted from the original source, providing us the possibility of retrieving the data from the archive if necessary. The erasing procedure likewise permanently deletes the data, but it does not always need having a backup, and it usually only affects small quantities of data.
