What are the questions asked in an IIM interview?

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are the top institutes for management education and research centers. Every MBA candidate dreams of being accepted into an IIM management school.

The selection procedure for IIM is divided into 3 rounds:

  • Written Ability Test (WAT).
  • Group Discussion rounds (GD).
  • Personal interview (PI).

Only candidates who pass the IIM criteria are selected for the PI round. This round is to test a candidate’s verbal communication abilities, mental presence, and how well he/she conveys his/her ideas and opinions to impress the interviewers.

  11. What were the headlines in the newspaper that drew your attention?
  12. Why an MBA?
  13. What is the point of specializing in marketing, finance, and so on?
  14. What is the significance of this particular program?
  15. What are your interests and hobbies?
  16. Who do you look up to as a role model?
