What are the interview questions for a business analyst?

During BA interviews, several questions may be asked. I’ve put together a list of questions that can be quite useful in preparing for an interview.

  1. What can you tell me about yourself?
  2. How do you deal with a situation where you’ve recently been hired as a BA, and there are no documents? So, what exactly do you do?
  3. Why are you interested in working here?
  4. In what ways do you believe you can contribute to our organization? What qualifications do you have for this position?
  5. Why did you leave your previous position?
  6. What aspects of your former job did you enjoy the most and dislike the most?
  7. What would your previous boss have to say about you?
  8. What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses, in your opinion?
  9. Tell me about your most recent project, your contribution, and the end result?
  10. Give me an example of a difficulty you had on the job and how you dealt with it.
  11. How do you deal with a non-feasible requirement?
  12. How well do you collaborate with others? Do you prefer to work alone or in a group?
  13. BA prepares Screen Mock-ups at which stage of the project? What is he going to do with them?
  14. As a BA, what artifacts (documents) did you produce?
  15. Describe a time when working as part of a team yielded better outcomes than completing the assignment on your own.
