What are some tech career goals for mid-career people?

Without a question, technology is at the heart of everything these days. If you’re a techie, you might be feeling overwhelmed by all that’s going on around you. Almost every day, a new strategy, a new system, a new vendor, a new supplier, a new framework, and a new methodology are introduced. There is so much to do.
Maybe that’s why you’re asking, “What are some IT job objectives for persons in their mid-career?” Because there is no scarcity of things to do and accomplish.

I’d like to share with you this bucket list of goals for technologists to help you focus on what counts.

  • Participate in open-source initiatives.

  • Perform a skill-based task Volunteer work

  • Take a trip to Silicon Valley and the Bay Area (After Covid, of course)

  • Participate in a big tech conference (for example, by speaking, organizing, or volunteering).

  • Sponsor a member of a historically underrepresented group.

  • Make a name for yourself as a subject matter expert on a certain issue.

  • Make an online community or network that brings people together and allows them to conduct meaningful work.
