What are Linguistic Pseudo Classes?

Linguistic pseudo-classes reflect the document language and enable the selection of elements based on language or script action.

The direction pseudo-class allows elements to be selected based on the direction of the language as determined in the HTML markup. There are two flows for direction language in a document: left to right (ltr : Default) and right to left (rtl : Hebrew & Arabic).

The language pseudo-class will select an element based on its content language. It used to specify a language to use in a specified element. This class is useful in documents that must appeal to multiple languages that have different conventions for certain language constructs.
