What are Docker and Kubernetes?🚀

Two of the most in demand skills these days for roles which involve cloud computing.:cloud:

Dockers (Developed by Docker, Inc) are a way to make your applications run independent of the system they’ll be used upon.

Different applications have different needs of versions of software, libraries, configuration, etc.:bulb:

Installing them on every other system largely hampers the scalability.

Dockers are essentially containers or boxes in which you can put your application along with its dependencies.:inbox_tray:

The apps are then shipped as complete containers.:package:

These containers run on Linux servers which can be anywhere, be it your laptop or cloud based servers.

So in essence, there can be multiple instances running on different systems.

Then what is Kubernetes?

Kubernetes(Developed by Google) is a much more complicated technology which has the ability of scaling the application to more or lesser number of nodes depending upon the load.:repeat_one:

It automates the process of deploying, scaling, networking and managing these “containerized” services.

So if the load increases, Kubernetes engine will automatically divide it among 2 or more nodes for balancing.

Have you used Dockers and Kubernetes in any project?
