Bidding on your brand keywords not only helps people convert faster because they are already in your sales funnel, but it also helps you maintain your brand visibility.
If you do not bid on your brand keywords, then chances are that your competitors would bid on them and potentially eat away some part of the traffic that would otherwise have come to your site!
To prevent this from happening, run ads on your brand keywords (your business’s name and misspells). The icing on the cake is that this will not eat up much of your marketing budget because your quality score would be higher for these keywords, thus having a significantly lower CPC than your competitors.
