Python would be the best option because it has Pandas library that gives easy to use data structures and high-performance data analysis tools.
R is highly suitable for machine learning than just text analysis.
Python acts faster for all types of text analytics.

R is complete Statistical software which will be useful for Data Analysis. Where Python is a general purpose language but still you can use for Data Analysis by installing add ins like NumPy etc. But both are open source softwares which biggest advantage for individual data analyst who doesn’t have professional data analysis software like SQL. Finally between R or Python go with R.
