The term or job profile of data scientist is wrongfully used in many places as the precise roles and responsibility of a data scientist is not yet known to all. Also, there’s certain amount of subjectivity as well in terms of a ‘data scientist’ job profile as different businesses have different nomenclatures. An actual data scientist is one who understands the fact that more than three-quarters of the work is to clean and manipulate the data and get it ready for analysis. Therefore, professionals who feel that they would get the data ready for modeling is not an actual data scientist.
Other than that, many professionals also feel data visualization is data science which again is an untrue fact.
A data scientist gets the title with the company and agreement. The position has a responsibility and work statement in the agreement, and holds under the policy in the company. The more credible the company, the simpler to transfer position and credit to another company. If and when data science reaches a professional organization like actuaries, accountants, doctors, lawyers, and the like in public credit, the governing body identifies qualified members.
