Yes and why not its a good choice. In my point of view if you want to go in software development or in relevant field as well as if you are seeking career in security domain you must learn C programming.

If we talk about new programming language after C like C++ and JAVA these to programming languages are closely related to C and learning C will create a good understanding of low level programming as well.
