Is it worth joining Infosys as a fresher?

Following is the answer from the perspective of an ex-employee who had worked with the company, and we will recollect his/her experience.

I will give all the details in the form of pros and cons. Let us start with bad points about the company.

Cons

  • Why do you need classroom-based training if you are an Engineering graduate, especially in CS/IT? Do they teach the same principles, such as C/Python, Database concepts, and Stream (Java/DOTNET/Big Data, and so on)? If you work as an intern at a startup or a product company, you will be able to gain real-world experience.

  • What are your plans for infrastructure as an individual employee? Second, the machines you have been assigned are in very outdated configurations (Ex. 3-4GB RAM, Core2Duo processor, etc.). While working, your assigned machine will be extremely slow.

  • Maybe. They may have specific, well-defined procedures. However, when you contact a facility to have work done, it will be completed at a snail’s pace. For example, unless you are a super boss, getting a VOIP phone will take 10-15 days.

Pros

  • These service-based businesses have made a significant contribution to the economy. They have elevated India to a middle-income country, which is commendable.

  • If you have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or, in some cases, a scientific degree, you are likely to be hired by these organizations with a starting salary of Rs. 25K per month. For many individuals in our country, this is still a fantasy.
