Is cloud engineering a Good Career?

Cloud engineers have been named one of the most in-demand IT occupations of 2019, owing to the high number of companies transferring business processes to the cloud. According to NetEnrich research, 68 percent of company IT departments currently embrace public cloud infrastructure.

According to a SolarWinds research, more than half of IT experts think cloud and hybrid IT is their organization’s most critical IT strategy today, as virtually all firms transfer some workloads to the cloud.

“As firms migrate away from on-premises infrastructure models and toward a cloud-first strategy when updating or creating new environments,” Paul Wallenberg, senior unit manager of IT services at employment and recruiting agency LaSalle Network, told TechRepublic.

According to an Indeed analysis, job searches for cloud computing-related professions such as cloud infrastructure, cloud security, cloud architect, and cloud engineer increased approximately 108 percent between 2015 and 2018. The need for people with cloud computing expertise has increased by 33%.

Despite the significant level of interest among job seekers in these positions, employer demand continues to outstrip the number of qualified individuals available, according to the research. Indeed, discovered that searches for the phrases cloud computing and cloud engineer have increased by 141 percent in the last two years.
