How to identify the null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis from a given problem?

Im getting confused over it, which should be null and which should be alternate

the hypothesis that states there is no statistical significance between two variables is known as null hypothesis and opposite of null hypothesis is known as alternate hypothesis.
also in another way null hypothesis is the commonly accepted fact.
for example-according to Glassdoor,the mean data scientist salary in the US is $113,000.
so to test whether it is right or wrong and if we follow the hypothesis testing then in this scenario
the null hypothesis is-the mean data scientist salary is $113,000.
and alternate hypothesis will be-the mean data scientist salary is not $113,000.
