How long should a resume be?

While many people adhere to the one-page rule when it comes to resume writing, one page may not always be enough to adequately display your skills and achievements. Writing a two-page resume is perfectly fine, especially if you’ve only been in the workforce for a few years and all of the material you provide is relevant to the jobs you’re looking for.

However, if you can put all of your relevant expertise and background on one page, you should do so—no there’s reason to lengthen your resume if one page can effectively provide all of the information a hiring manager requires. Furthermore, a one-page resume will generally give adequate room to explain your past for individuals fresh out of school or new to the job market.
