Deceptive Ad
Deceptive advertising is also known as “False Advertising”. It is one form of advertising that will equip consumers with false and misleading information.

Unfair Ad
Unfair advertising is very dangerous to consumers that involve legal binding. When there is an occurrence of public policy and consumer rights violation in an advertising message, then it is coined as “Unfair advertising”.

The IRDA (Insurance Advertisements and Disclosure) Regulations, 2000 defines “unfair or misleading advertisement” as any advertisement
(a) that fails to clearly identify the product as insurance;
(b) makes claims beyond the ability of the policy to deliver or beyond the reasonable expectation of performance;

The act of using deceptive, misleading, or false statements about a product or service in an advertisement. False advertising laws stipulate that consumers are entitled to know exactly what they are purchasing, along with the specific amount they are being charged for a property, good or service.
