The Series Generator transformation, which is available in both passive and linked setups, is responsible for generating primary keys or a sequence of integers for computations or processing. It includes two output ports that may be linked to a mapplet’s many transformations. These are the ports:
- NEXTVAL: This can be connected to multiple transformations for generating a unique value for each row or transformation.
- CURRVAL: This port is connected when NEXTVAL is already connected to some other transformation within the mapplet.
