You should be reading this post because you have a blog or website that is in need of content.
And, if you are like most people who do, then you are probably looking for the easiest and quickest way to write that content. And that’s where I hope this article will help!
So sit back and relax while I tell you all about how YOU can create great articles (for your blog or website) on a super consistent basis!
The Problem With Most Content Creation Methods…
Most bloggers use one of two methods when it comes to writing their posts… They either: 1) wing it , which is basically just making up whatever they think will sound good in the moment; OR 2) they research other articles or blog posts that have already been written and then just completely rip off whatever they find, trying to reword it or make their version different enough from the original source.
Let me ask you a quick question… How do you think those kinds of posts are going to turn out? At best, they will probably just be ok . But at worse, they could get your website flagged for duplicate content , which means Google will never index your site! Not only is that extremely damaging for SEO purposes but also because most people don’t bother reading beyond page 1 of the search results on Google (if that). So if your post isn’t even there, then why would anyone else ever see it? That’s why it is so important to always create 100% original content!
Well… What if you don’t know how to create great content?
How To Create Great Content For Your Site Or Blog
But even so, it’s clear that most people still have problems creating quality posts on a regular basis. Therefore I think the best way for people to get started is just by learning from what others are doing and then trying to improve upon those concepts. So in this article, we will discuss: 1) my personal blogging strategy; 2) how I brainstorm ideas; and 3) how you can actually apply these concepts as well! Let’s get started…
My Personal Blogging Strategy
I mentioned earlier that I am a fan of looking at other sites to get some inspiration for my own content. Well… Let me tell you how I do that!
Step 1: Find Sites That Have Great Content
The first thing that I do is go onto Google now and simply type in a specific topic that I want to write about. Then, the sites (or blogs) that come up most frequently on page one of those Google results are good candidates to start out with because they have obviously already proven themselves as having high quality content in your niche. So this is typically how my personal blog strategy begins…
Step 2: Read Specific Articles From Those Blogs
Once I have identified several sites with great content, the next step is to read specific articles from each of them. And I like to take notes about what I find while I do this. Then at the end, I look for patterns or themes that turn up in most of these sites’ posts and ONLY THEN am I ready for my first brainstorming session .
Step 3: Brainstorm Ideas
At this point, I typically will use a software tool like Evernote to store all of these notes from each article that I read. The reason why is because then when it comes time to actually create content for my own site… Well, let’s just say it makes things go much more smoothly than if you have to keep going back and forth between different windows (or tabs). And usually, before every major blog post that I write now, there are at least 3 different brainstorming sessions that go into it (if not more). Here’s an example from a recent post of mine:
- No one could really explain to me why this was happening. But I am pretty sure that the reason is because most bloggers are just terrible at giving credit where credit is due . And even if you aren’t directly copying and pasting any content, it doesn’t mean that your article isn’t still going to be a duplicate in nature. So what I recommend doing next time is adding a reference link to the source you found on the web *
As you can see… Just like you would with any kind of work, it takes practice! And there are probably hundreds or thousands of little tricks and strategies that can be used to enhance your writing skills and overall ability to create great content. But you have to start somewhere, so why not just use what the masters are already doing?
