Many of the same investing dangers apply to altcoins as they do to Bitcoin. Furthermore, many tiny cryptocurrencies are illiquid. However, well-known altcoins like ether and XRP compete with Bitcoin.

There might be some alts that pump harder than bitcoin. Picking a winning alt is like playing the lottery though.

there are 6859 altcoins in existence. What alt coin boosters hide from people is the fact that 4472 of those have already died and went to 0!

Of the 2387 that are still alive the majority has virtually no trading volume. This means that you can buy the coin but selling it on is difficult because there are no other buyers!

99.9% of altcoins have no real use case. They mainly exist to fleece the uninformed of their money.
