5 Tips for Instagram Marketing (Part 4)

  1. Create content that’s worth sharing. If someone likes what they see when they visit your page, they might want to share it with their friends and followers… but only if it’s engaging! The good news here is that when you create something genuinely interesting - people will associate this feeling with your brand and remember who it was that made them feel this way in the first place.
  2. Don’t just post pictures. It might be tempting to post a quick photo and label it with a hashtag or two - but don’t do this! You might get more impressions, but you won’t capture the hearts of your followers. Instead, spend the time crafting an image that’s meaningful instead.
  3. Keep posting. There will be times when you have nothing good to share… which is perfectly fine! Just find ways to post something anyway (like a meme or a question). The simple act of keeping in touch with your audience on an ongoing basis can go a long way.
  4. Add hashtags. This seems like pretty essential advice. But consider how many people are using Instagram as part of their strategy to advertise their wares without any hashtag at all. There’s a good chance that you’re one of them! Make sure users can easily find your posts by adding relevant hashtags to everyone.
  5. Don’t take it too seriously. If anyone sees your post and isn’t interested in what you have to offer - chances are they’ll move on. Be authentic and make it clear where you’re coming from with your content (and don’t be afraid to leave things out if the situation calls for it). People want to feel like you’re open about who you are as an individual as well… not trying too hard or hiding something (like how so many companies do on their websites).
