- Use Instagram as part of your customer service department. Remember: in social media, the customer is always right (even if they’re not). The best way to show how much you value their opinions is by actively interacting with them. One straightforward way to do this is by asking a question or two in the caption part of your photo.
- Think beyond just posting photos. Instagram also allows you to post videos and even gives users the ability to swipe through multiple pictures at once (even though I don’t know anyone who does that). Consider using these tools creatively when possible as well!
- Be visual. If you’re looking to engage the Instagram community, don’t just write a paragraph about why they should follow or buy from you. Find a way to create an image that expresses this message instead.
- Consistency is key. Since Instagram doesn’t allow for links in your captions, one of the best ways to drive traffic elsewhere is simply by linking it at the end of each of your posts (as seen below). You can even make it look like part of your branding!
- Interact with other accounts. Finding new people who might be interested in what you have to offer is excellent, but talking with and learning from other big players on this platform is crucial if you want to be successful.
