Which one should I choose for higher studies, an MBA in finance or MBA in digital marketing? Whose scope is wider, which one gets higher paid, and which one is demanding?

Of course, an MBA in Finance has a far broader reach, but excellent positions demand a solid basis. A finance MBA may open numerous doors in the business world, including Treasury, Risk Management, Financial Analysis, and Equity Research, among other areas. However, understanding where your interests lie demands excellent Analytical/Quant Skills, as well as great internships in relevant fields.

Digital marketing, on the other hand, does not need an MBA because it is a much smaller topic with several possibilities to learn it independently or through a short-term course. Though it has a lot of promise, it also has a lot of competition, so you’ll need a lot of practical experience in areas like web analytics, online advertisements, Adsense/Adwords, SEO, SEM, PPC, and so on.

A finance degree will get you ahead in the long term if you have solid foundations. Finance, on the other hand, is more difficult to pursue since employment is scarce and selective. Finance will be better compensated since there is a greater demand for finance positions despite a scarcity of qualified candidates!
