Dual Axis allows you to compare measurements with various scales, which is important when comparing two measures with different scales.
Create a visualization showing sales over time and profit over time, using the same example as in the previous question. Right-click on the second pill of the measurements and select Dual Axis to make a dual-axis.
Notice how sales and profit are not on the same axis, and that profit is significantly greater near the end.
The difference between a blended axis and a dual-axis chart is that a blended axis utilizes the same scale, but a dual-axis chart might have two separate scales and two different mark cards.
Scenario: In the same view, we want to show Sales by year and Profit Ratio by year.
We generate a visual representation of sales and profit margins over time. It’s worth noting that the sales and profit ratios can’t be on the same scale because the profit ratio is expressed in percentage. We right-click on Profit Ratio and select Dual Axis since we want the two metrics in the same region.
