What is the role of a Social Media Manager?

A social media manager creates engaging social media content with the purpose of converting followers and viewers of the content into loyal customers of the brand. They are trusted with monitoring, executing, filtering and measuring the social media presence of a product, brand, corporation, or at times even an individual. They create and maintain brand promotions, company information and marketing campaigns for the entity they represent across several social media networks, and use certain metrics and key performance indicators to determine whether the brand’s social media presence is in alignment with their mission, vision and objectives. They also produce content and are constantly innovating to produce fresh content according to trending topics at the moment. They generally coordinate with the Digital Marketing Manager to drive lead generation campaigns to acquire customers. Finally, they set measurable goals for each new campaign to be able to measure the return on investment and use that information to deduce whether the campaign was successful or not.
