The Cass Freight Index is a monthly total of freight deliveries in the United States. The index is compiled and published by Cass Information Solutions, a provider of automated payment systems. The Index, which was first published in 1955, is a useful indication of U.S. shipping activity, encompassing over 1,200 divisions of over 400 firms and manufacturers.
