Proof-of-activity (PoA) is a consensus mechanism for blockchains that is used in cryptocurrencies and other similar systems. It is used to verify that all transactions on the blockchain are legitimate, as well as that all miners reach a consensus. Proof-of-stake (PoS) and proof-of-work (PoW) are two alternative blockchain consensus methods (PoS).
