Business-to-business (B2B), often known as B2B, is a type of transaction between two or more firms, such as a manufacturer and a wholesaler, or a wholesaler and a retailer. Business-to-business refers to transactions that take place between businesses rather than between businesses and individual customers. Business-to-business transactions are distinguished from consumer-to-consumer (B2C) and government-to-government (B2G) transactions. In a normal supply chain, firms acquire components and goods such as other raw materials for use in manufacturing operations, which leads to business-to-business interactions. Individuals can then purchase finished goods through business-to-consumer interactions. Business-to-business refers to techniques for connecting personnel from various businesses, such as through social media, in the context of communication. B2B communication refers to communication between employees from two or more organizations.
