Variables are used to hold variables that are used by SSIS packages, containers, tasks, and event handlers at run time. Variables may also be used in scripts. Additionally, when constraint definitions include expressions, precedence constraints that order tasks and containers into a workflow employ variables.
User-defined variables and system variables are both supported by Integration Services.
