The pay scale of management consultants is generally on the higher side in any particular economy. The top-tier firms like PricewaterhouseCooper, Deloitte, and KPMG pay their consultants a handsome fee. With the emergence of multi-specialty consulting firms BCG, Bain & Co., and Mckinsey the salaries have only gone higher in the management consulting domain. These firms are one of the highest payers in the country and are hence a desired destination for most B-School graduates. With median salary at the top tier firms being higher than 20 lakhs per annum, we see why they are many a time called paymasters for MBAs. With a growing economy like India and the emergence of greater business opportunities, the firms will continue to grow as well, and hence the remuneration in the field is expected to go only higher from the current scenario. Hence, to conclude it would be correct to say that management consulting is a high-paying job.
