How to prepare for Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning of XAT?

Verbal Ability and Logical reasoning is one section of XAT which has a certain resemblance with the VARC section from CAT with some minor exceptions like the number of critical reasoning questions. The passages in XAT are comparatively shorter in length but are comparatively tough to understand. The options are also quite close so unless a thorough understanding of the passage is obtained, it wont be easy to answer the questions. Practicing more RC’s would certainly help the aspirants. Critical reasoning is an important part of this section that can significantly boost the score hence it is advised to prepare for CR very thoroughly. In order to get hold of the type of questions, solving past year papers would fruitful. Analyzing the questions that are incorrect is important but it is equally important to go through questions the correct questions in order to know if a question was properly understood and then answered. Maintaining a timer and record of your time and score would help formulate a strategy as in how much time to allocate to which part of the section. A proper strategy will help aspirants score good marks.
